Located in Jefferson County, the city of Arvada is located on the northwest side of metro Denver, bordering the cities of Wheat Ridge, Golden and Westminster. Once known for its small town roots, the city was well-known for small horse farms and acreages, but is now a popular metro Denver suburb with easy access to downtown Denver and the mountains.

The addition of a new light rail line that will serve the western suburbs makes transportation to downtown Denver very simple. Access to highways and the mountains is also a big plus, and makes the location very desirable to people seeking easy commutes to sporting and events in the downtown area, or for those that are hoping for an easier work commute.

The city has an excellent parks and trail system, which is used by outdoor enthusiasts for a variety of outdoor activities. Local lakes, creeks and dog parks dot the city, and it is not uncommon to find a home with excellent mountain views or open space areas.
