You found the one! You feel the butterflies in your stomach and you can’t stop thinking about it. You walk through it over and over in your mind and you can see yourself living in it. It’s your dream home and nothing else compares. You have a crush and you are not alone.
Realtor.com® recently conducted a survey of 1000 consumers and reported that 69 percent of men and women surveyed said they have had a house crush while only 31 percent said they have not. The survey not only provided insight on what men and women crush on, but also how they crush differently.
What men and women crush on
It comes as no surprise that 54 percent of women reported that outdoor living spaces make them fall in real estate love. 42 percent shared they crush on open floor plans and 29 percent drool over both updated appliances and fixtures and curb appeal.
46 percent of men indicated a similar love for outdoor living spaces. Of course 40 percent fall for garages and 35 percent reported that curb appeal was a factor in their crush. Only 30 percent of men surveyed revealed open floor plans is something they lusted for.
How men and women crush differently
Women fall hard and fast with 41 percent sharing that their home crush is out of their price range. Men however approach their new feelings with reason. 70 percent shared that their home crush is in their price range.
